EVENTS

January 7-12, 2003. San Jose Auto Show, San Jose, California. Five PTs from the PT Cruisers of Silicon Valley were featured in the club's booth at this major automotive event! Our PTs were seen by Thousands of event-goers and we had some WONDERFUL reactions, especially from the children of some local schools who came by on a field trip.....Thanks to the Silicon Valley Auto Dealers Association and Mark Normandin for having us at the event!

December 14, 2002. Toys for Tots Run 2002. San Jose, California. Through the nastiest storm of the year, 18 PTs from Monterey and Silicon Valley (and north) brought bags and bags and bags of toys to the brave Marines in downtown San Jose. Radio station B-94.5 FM called the Monterey Bay PT Cruisers and Silicon Valley PT Cruisers the "heroes of the hour" and mentioned us twice ON THE AIR!! We all wound up doing lunch at Tony & Alba's again, and everyone thankfully made it home just fine. Mother Nature can't keep these groups down!

December 7, 2002. 2nd Annual PTCSV Christmas Party. Bill & Betty Henthorn's house. Sunnyvale, California. For 2002, B3 invited us to enjoy their home and celebrate the holidays as a club. And enjoy we did, as we filled their home to capacity. The White Elephant and plain old gift exchanges were a big hit, as was the appearance of the man himself, Santa Claus, who handed out presents to ALL of the young ones, and was even a hit with my daughter, Katrina! Thank you so much, Bill and Betty (and you, too, Belle) for a wonderful Christmas bash!

November 27, 2002. 2nd Annual 2nd Harvest Food Bank Run. San Jose, California. 13 PTs took of on our annual run to drop off food at the local food bank. Together we gathered over 100 pounds of non-perishable foods for the poor for Thanksgiving. After that, we cruised over to a local slot car track, where we raced in three heats of races. Looks like John Gallagher and I raced to a dead heat in the last race. After that we headed to Tony & Alba's Pizza for some REALLY good eats. Met a new cruiser named Rich Steffens with his Stone White with baby moons. Look forwqard to seeing more of his car in the future!

November 16, 2002. Stoneridge Chrysler Car Show. Dublin, California. About 90 PT Cruisers of all over Northern California came to participate in this first annual event. out of the five awards given out, PTCSV won three. Not too bad! Although, Don won for "stock" and if his is stock, what the heck is mine? "Bone Stock?"

October 13, 2002. Greenfield Harvest Festival Car Show. Greenfield, California. For a change of pace, the PTCSV and Monterey Bay PT Cruisers participated in the Greenfield Harvest Festival Parade and Car Show. As a group, we won 2nd Place in the Automobile division for the parade. For the car show, 5 PTs stayed behind and enjoyed the festivities which included a great amateur wrestling venue right behind the PTs. Debbie Stafford won third place "Euro" division and I won first place "Euro" division....my first "Best of Class" award!

Terri Estrada won Best Hatchback Display, Debbie Stafford won Best Underhood, Pete Saulnier won Best Custom, and I won Best Themed PT. Fun was had, but the food was sparse, drinks non-exitant, and the music was shall we say, low tech....

September 21, 2002. Past Time PT Cruisers PT Jamboree. Isleton, California. About 65 PT Cruisers attended the third annual PT Jamboree in the quiet Delta town of Isleton (think Crawdad Festival). The PTCSV won the Club Participation award, Don & Kristen got Third Place-Custom, and we got 2nd Place-Custom, Best Theme and People's Choice. Overall a very nice event, though short on food and outhouses.....

Afterwards, we had out monthly PT Cruise-In at Foster's Freeze in Milpitas. A record 29 PTs showed up. We had a raffle and raised about .00 for the http://www.snbw.org

Guests Bill and Sandi were our first out of state participants and they contributed a Benevento sunroof deflector to the raffle, which we managed to win!!

August 20, 2002. Giants versus Mets, Pac Bell Park, San Francisco, California. The PTCSV went on a non-cruise group visit to the Giants game. Schmidt pitched a 5 hit shutout, and Bonds scored the only run on a funky sacrifice by Shinjo (he shoulda been cut down at the plate) but a win is a win. We had fun on our first visit to the ballpark....
